it's a throwback throwback throwback.
we love a good blast from the past even if it's from like kindergarten for some us... in fact, that's the best kind of blast from the past. accessories this spring and summer all have the ultimate nostalgia factor. here's some of our favorite throwback trends side by side with some of the biggest names in style right now.
first up are the hair accessories...
you guys know us by now - we love something that looks like you're trying way harder than you actually are. hair accessories are the easiest way to do that. anyway, barrettes are on the up and up and i used to be a big barrette girl so i'm excited and ready. i can't get behind the old school plastic-y barrettes but I'm very in favor of pearl barrette especially for more formal events. they add an extra pop of style and take just a second to clip in. the barrette trend is also victoria's secret angel approved via kendall jenner and winnie harlow so basically all the cool kids are doing it.
my personal favorite hair trend this season has to be the knotted headbands. they're perfect for straight or curly hair and they remind me of blair waldorf in the best possible way. there's cute woven ones, pearl ones, patterned, solids... the options are endless. they're fun to put on for a pool day or to add to your work outfit.
fun fact: some of these trends are princess approved like these hair ties with the little bow details... we love tying a simple neckerchief or scarf in your hair to add a little extra detail or to pull all the colors of your outfit together. we however have stocked up on lots of scrunchies just like hailey bieber. they're super easy for days you don't have a ton of time to do your hair, just toss it up and put a matching scrunchie on!
now onto jewelry...
now for a next level throwback/reincarnation/just plain cool. cindy crawford, yknow... the model, has a daughter, kaia gerber, and they've now gotten to both model some big hoops as this trend has come back again. the hoops haven't gotten bigger diameter-wise, some thicker metal has come out to play this time around. hoops are both timeless and trendy like you'll never look dated wearing them but it's nice to be able to wear them while they're a 10 on the cool scale. 
we found another princess approved throwback. meghan markle has subtly been wearing a shell necklace and i've got to say... i'm into it. it's just such a good summer trend and the creamy colors of a good shell will transition into fall for days when it's still super hot, so well. don't overthink styling these... put them on with your fave tank or even just a swimsuit while you lay out. they're also super cute dressed up with some other pieces like pearl pendants and gold dainty pieces.
